Return to Changing Lives

Farley

Farley as a WAGS Puppy-in-TrainingFarley, a yellow lab, joined our family two months ago – June 2008. His transition from a WAGS service-dog-in-training to a family pet has been smooth. We have attempted to maintain his trained skills while transitioning him to be a "pet", and this has been a work in progress, as the “freer” aspects of the pet life allow his exuberance to surface.

On the whole he is very well behaved, and retains his learned skills. He has quickly won our hearts, and the hearts of two of our grown children who are home for the summer. He has adapted well to his new environment, and seems very content. He has, as most dogs do, added enrichment to our lives and we are happy with our decision to add him to the family.

Note: Farley participated in a R.E.A.D. program with Volunteer Puppy Raiser, Cindy Holland.
