Volunteer Puppy Raiser

DEBBIE WILDMAN

My interest in dogs began when I was a child. I have always enjoyed working with dogs and my interest led me into learning and teaching dog obedience. After a successful doggie career with my first Brittney, Daisy I was hooked.  I went from show in confirmation and getting titles on my dogs to helping others do the same thing.

Eventually my interest led me wanting to do more. I had a strong desire to use my love of dogs and my training skills to help others. I attended a dog fair several years ago and saw my first WAGS dog and puppy trainer. I knew this was something I had to do. In 2007 I finally contacted Kelly, WAGS’ Program Director and joined the WAGS team.  Since 2007 I have worked with Honey, Holly, Happy and now Jordan.

My favorite experience so far was attending the 2007 graduation ceremony where I witnessed for the first time how much we affect people’s lives. The happiness on the faces of the new owners will be something I will always remember.

What I like the most about WAGS is being able to work with the puppies. I love taking the new puppies on field trips and meeting lots of nice people.
